JEM can automatically backup your database via cron job to protect your data.  To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click on Settings > Global Configuration > System > Backup Settings
2. Enter the directory path in Directory Path for Backups
3. Make sure folder is writeable.
4. We suggest you keep this folder outside of your publicly accessible web folder for security.

Manual Backups

You can also manually backup your database. To do that, click on the Backup Now button on the same page given above.  JEM will backup your database to the folder specified above.
