To customize Layout Columns, go to Design >> Site Layout

3 tabs will appear:

Layout Options - controls the appearance of your homepage, its tagline and logo, among others

Column options - lets you control the left and right hand columns for your site content, as well as its top and bottom menus,

Custom CSS - let you use your own code for your site.

 

Under the Column Options tab:

- You can choose to show or hide the top and footer menus on your site.

- You can also choose which sections/links will show on the left and right hand columns of your site:

Ex. Home Page, Store, Profile Pages, Content Pages, Standard Pages, and FAQ Pages.

 

You can actually choose to show only the left hand column, for example, by picking the 'hide' option for all the column elements on the right column menu in the Column Options tab. By clicking on submit, you can refresh your site and see the changes immediately.
