JEM allows you to create your own custom home page instead of using the default one provided by JEM. You can do that with the following instructions

Changing the Home Page

The default home page in JEM is set to showcase the store component.  If you don't want to show off your products, and instead have your own custom content show up, do the following:

1. Click on Design > Site Layout > Layout Options.
2. Select 'homepage' or 'content' for the Default Home Page Field. 
   
3. If you selected homepage, you can now go to Content > Manage Content, and select the home page option to start adding your own HTML.
4. For a blog style site, select the content option for the Default Home Page field.  This will automatically start showing your latest blog content types on the site by date.

Redirecting to a Custom URL

If you want to redirect the home page to a custom URL that is outside of the JEM application, you can do that as well. For example, if you have a custom flash intro, or splash page, you may want to have users see that first instead of the standard JEM home page.

Click on Design > Site Layout, and under the Layout Options tab, you can enter the full URL in custom home page redirect. This will automatically redirect users to that page when visiting the JEM home page.
