To add Product Categories, go to Products >> Manage Categories.

Click on the  'add product category' button on the right hand side of the screen.

A pop-up will appear with the following fields:

Category name

Category status - setting the status to inactive hides this category.

Category description

Category keywords - search words for this category

Directory path - selects the path for this category

Upload photo - if you wish to have a photo representing this category on your homepage.

After filling in all the fields with the correct information on your new category, including any image files that you wanted to ad, click on 'submit'. You will see a message stating that the new category was added successfully.

Showing Sub Category Links

If you want to show subcategory links on pages, you must show them using CSS as they are hidden by default.
