Creating a Membership Based Digital Downloads Site

JEM allows you to create a membership based site that gives users access to digital downloads as long as they are a member.  Otherwise, the digital downloads must be purchased individually.

This type of site will work well if you want to setup a membership based site that gives away digital products to their subscribers.  As long as they remain a subscriber, they can download all your digital products from your site.

To configure this, follow these steps
  1. Create a membership product - you must first create a membership product that you want users to subscribe to so as to get access.  You can do that in Products > Manage Products
  2. Create your digital products - create as many digital products as you want via Products > Manage Products. For each digital product that you want to have available with a membership, you must click on the Options tab and scroll down to the Add To Membership option.  Select which membership product this digital download will be available to from the dropdown box.
  3. Save it.
  4. Repeat this step for all your digital products.  Once you are done, you can now get users to first purchase your membership product and upon purchase and login, they can go to each digital product on your store and instead of getting an 'add to cart' button, they can download the product directly from the product details page:
