Enabling or Disabling the Option for Customers to Become Affiliates Automatically
By default, JEM sets all customers to become affiliates automatically. If you do not want this option to be enabled, and prefer that customers manually activate their affiliate account, follow these steps.
- Click on Settings > Global Configuration > Marketing > Affiliate Marketing.
- Scroll to the option for Customers are Automatically Affiliates and set it to Disable

- If you want to manually approve customer requests to become affiliates, set the Require Admin Approval for Affiliates to Enable
- Save your Settings.
- Once those options are set, you will see a new icon on your Members area screen:

- The
icon shows that the user is already an active and approved affiliate. Clicking it will disable his affiliate marketing option. - The
icon shows that the user is not yet an affiliate and by clicking it, will activate the affiliate option on his account as well as notify him via email. - Users can also activate the affiliate marketing option themselves via the JEM members area. All they have to do is login to their members area, and click on the following link on the dashboard:

- Once they click on that link, and as long as you don't have the Require Admin Approval for Affiliates
to Enable, their affiliate link will be activated and they can view all the marketing tools directly in their members area.
