Importing Data from JAM to JEM

JEM has a module that will import certain data elements in JAM to JEM.  These include:

  • Affiliates
  • Commissions
  • Payments
  • Traffic
  • Marketing Tools

All other settings must be manually configured in JEM.

*This is only for a new install of JEM. You cannot migrate JAM data to your JEM installation if you already have data in your JEM installation or else it will be overwritten

* For JAM version 1.6.2.58 Only! All other versions, you must upgrade to that version first.

To begin the migration, you need to first install the JAM data import module.  Follow these steps to do that:

  1. Click on Settings > Installed Modules.
  2. Click on Install Module
  3. For the Module Name and description, enter JAM Database Import
  4. For the module file name field, enter jam
  5. For Module Type, select Data Import
  6. Click Submit to install the module.
  7. Once it is installed, scroll down the list of Installed Modules, and click on the activate icon for the JAM Database Import module.
  8. Now, click on Settings > Data Import.  you will see the JAM database import module listed there.
  9. Click on the Run Module icon. You will need your JAM database information to proceed.
  10. The JAM import module will attempt to migrate your affiliates, commissions, payment, traffic, and marketing tools.  You can select which data to migrate as well.

* If you have a large JAM database, you must use the segmented option for migration.  This is because most PHP installations do not allow you to use up a lot of memory, which this migration does.  To enable segmented migration, click on the Module Settings button and select the enable segmented migration for affiliates table  and enter the configuration that you need.
